Day 62: Toledo
So, I couldn’t choose just one photo. I honestly had it down to 4, and this was a tough decision. Each photo was so beautiful yet so unique!
I chose the first because it’s a great representation of the entire historic part of Toledo. I actually have a quite funny story about getting lost and left there with my friend, and pretty much depending on our own Spanish knowledge skills and memory skills to figure out where to go. Good thing we’re awesome. The NEX-5N also has an awesome wide-angle lens, so I was sure to capture the whole city.
The second photo is much more simple, but WOW check out that zoom! This photo was actually taken:1. From a moving bus, and2. From REALLY far away.
It seems to work amazingly even if you are moving, and the zoom is just ridiculously awesome. I can’t believe I as able to capture that! I swear this is the best camera in the world. I wish I could even get my hands on an NEX-7….now THAT would be a treat. But until then, NEX-5N is the way to go. Honestly the biggest visible difference between the 5N and the 7 (at least on the outside, since I haven’t had much of a chance to play with the 7) is that the 5N is more similar to digital cameras in the fact that it doesn’t have a place for your eye to look through the lens, so it’s only digital, and that it does not have the 2 adjustable buttons that the 7 does, which is honestly made for photographers or those who reeeeally get into photography. Either one would be the BEST investment ever. I couldn’t vouch for it more. So depending on your taste, you get to choose which one’s for you.Day 62: Toledo

Day 61/365: Fireworks in Spain
This was a pleasant surprise! My roommate and I went out to explore and find some yummy Spanish dinner. While we were sitting down, fireworks just started going off. OF COURSE I had to capture it. I used the NEX-5N again, and another cool thing to know about it is that its speed is 10fps. That’s TEN. frames. per. second. With that tiny thing called the smallest DSLR camera. That’s 6 more than some of Sony’s competitors (Nikon, Cannon). So thanks to that speed, because I don’t think I would’ve been able to capture such a clear image of the fireworks. I think it’s a pretty nice, stable, clear, and beautiful image.
PS. Please notice the low-light quality, as well as the clarity in this photo. Thanks, EXMOR R sensor, you are da best! View Larger

Day 60/365: Barcelona vs. Bilbao Atletismo
SOOOO MUCH FAN LOVE. 2nd day in Spain, and we fall into this happening! Not expected but awesome. The game was a good game, and while we didn’t get to watch it Live, we got a chance to watch it at a restaurant with other fans and had the best time ever. The Spanish and their crazy culture!
Used the NEX-5N on this. Intelligent Auto again. Promise that you’ll see others without the IA, but as of right now, all the first ones will definitely be IA. View Larger

Day 59/365: Water in a park in Madrid. First day in Spain <3
This camera literally came the day before I took this picture, so I wasn’t able to learn much yet about all the manual settings. The AWESOME thing about it, though, is the fact that it, too, has Intelligent Auto. Just like the TX10 did. Lucky me!! I just had to learn how to hold it up right :P If only it were that easy, though…. look out for more specs and cool things in the other photos coming up later from my abroad experience. View Larger

Day 55/365: Tree and Sky Reflection
No, the focus is not meant to be on the candle wicks but instead on the reflection of the trees and sky on the melted wax. I thought it was beautiful! I love playing around on the camera. It’s just too much fun. And it’s a good way to have you understand the way I view most things in life…a way that most people don’t usually look at things. I’m observant and I like unique views, angles, foci (being grammatically correct here lol), etc. I love looking at the world through the lens. I used the P setting for this one so I could tap on the middle of the camera screen and make sure it focused on the reflection part rather than the wicks. And that’s another thing I love about photography! You start by having one idea of a cool photo, and then it ends up having like a domino effect because you then start taking more and more photos of the same thing, but you now have hundreds of other creative ideas or angles in your head that would make the photo stand out even more. Day 54/365: Electric Love
This photo was actually an accident, but it came out great! I was just trying to get a good photo of my finger touching the outside glass, but accidentally snapped a photo while I was positioning my hand, and this is what happened :) I love times like this. I used the Intelligent Auto setting on the TX10 and let it pick and choose its focus…not a bad choice for an intelligent camera ;) View Larger

Day 53/365: Luna Moth
I have never seen one in person before!!! It just happened to be chillin’ on our dorm frame when I got home :D HAD to snap a photo of it. You see these things flying everywhere in the Lunesta commercial on TV right now. They’re pretty awesome. I did my research, and I think that this is a male luna moth. The female ones looked like they curve a little more where at that brown part on top of the wings. And it was only after showing this picture to my roommate (who is an entomology major) that she freaked out and let me know that she had been looking for one of those for forever! Remember her collection I’ve been taking photos of? It’s growing more and more and more, and it is absolutely beautiful. It’s full of bugs, beetles, moths, bees/yellowjackets, and butterflies! More photos of it will be coming soon ;)
I had to use flash for this photo too, because it was wayyyy too dark outside. It’s not bad at all for a quick snap before it flew off! View Larger

Day 52/365: WN2W
In honor of my friends :) We got together most Wednesdays this year for hang out time and board games. We would play different ones each week, and this week happened to be Pictionary. I think it was a good and easy choice of game to end to our semester with! I’m soo sad a lot of people are moving away once they graduate in May, though. It saddens me to think about how I met all these wonderful people a few years ago, got very close, and here we are now saying our goodbyes. Many are leaving the state, which is why it’s so sad. But I hope that they’ll come back to visit and still remember me even if they’re far away livin’ the busy life and going through grad school. I have so so so much love for all my friends. It is ridiculous. <3 View Larger

Day 51/365: 2 yolks, 1 egg
Haha this was so funny. Went to make breakfast, cracked an egg, and got this out of it! Pretty cool though. I don’t think it happens very often :) Anyways, I used flash for this photo. I normally don’t use it often unless very necessary, but the colors just popped out so much more with it for this photo. View Larger
